FINANCIAL PLANNING

Cash flow and wealth charts are at the heart of all of our clients financial plans.  We will take you through a simulation of what your future could look like based on decisions you make now.

What is Financial Planning?

Financial Planning aims to give our clients objective assistance in organising their personal and/or corporate financial affairs to more readily achieve their financial and lifestyle goals.

A Financial Plan provides a complete picture of where you are now, including your Net Worth, Income and Expenditure, but crucially shows a forecast of your cashflow and net worth going into the future.

Obviously we need to make some assumptions to get to this point but it is fascinating to see a picture of how the future could look, and of course how it may look based on making some changes.  We spend a lot of time with you listening to how you would like your life to be in the future, and we can add in various options to see how realistic they are.

We take a great deal of satisfaction in showing our clients what may be possible in the future.  Many people have dreams but are afraid to commit to too much spending through fear of running out of money later on, this is surprisingly true for a lot of people, even those with high levels of wealth.

Once a Financial Plan has been constructed there will be an action plan to move forwards.  This may involve Financial Products and Investment Portfolio construction.  For this you will need to be looked after by a Regulated Financial advisor who can advise you on the most suitable product for the need highlighted in your Financial Plan, preferably one who is registered as an Independent Financial advisor (IFA) as they will be able to advise you on the whole range of products available.

Many Financial Planners are also Regulated Independent Financial advisors, although there are of course Financial Planners who do not offer Regulated Advice, and Financial advisors who do not offer Financial Planning!

Aurea Financial Planning is both an Accredited Financial Planning Firm with the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) and Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as Independent Financial advisor (IFA).  Our FCA Registration number is 121212, an easy one to remember!

The Certified Financial Planners (CFP™) license is an international qualification and license recognised around the world as the standard for Financial Planning.  The CFP™ mark outside of the UK is owned by the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB).  The UK license is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.  Aurea is proud to have two CFP™ holders in the team.

The Financial Planning Process

Initial Enquiry

We will talk to you about our financial planning service, how we work and how you can benefit from our service.  We will also find out a little about you, to see where we can help.  There is no obligation at this point and you will be quoted a fee for us to create your Financial Plan.  You then have a decision to make as to whether you wish to proceed.

Appointment

Upon appointment our first step will be to start to prepare a financial plan tailored to your particular requirements and situation.

Setting goals

We will spend some time talking with you to identify your goals over the short, medium and long term.  After that we will find out details about your specific circumstances and build up a comprehensive picture of your situation which we can then analyse.

Analysis and Financial Planning

We will analyse the data that we have and combine this with your lifestyle goals.  The analysis will include a lifetime cash flow forecast, wealth creation forecast based on a current position scenario, but then also in ‘what if’ scenarios.  These scenarios will be using options that you have told us are important to you.

Independent Financial Advice

As we go through your Financial Plan there will be advice and recommendations as to how to best achieve the goals laid out in your Financial Plan.  An example of this is that we will have calculated a return on your wealth that needs to be achieved for your Financial Plan to work.  A Financial Advisor will then go on to recommend suitable portfolios for your savings and Investments that have the most likelihood of achieving that return.

Agreed Action

This leads on to the formation of an action plan on how you can best reach your stated goals.  Our report will explain the approach we have taken and why.

Implementation

The next stage is to implement that plan step by step, this is a process that we can undertake and guide you through.

Regular reviews

Progress needs to be revised at regular intervals which we will agree with you, and adjustments made as necessary, depending on changes in circumstances or your initial goals.
